June 25th is a day that I’ll never forget.  It’s the day that Sage Alexandra James came into this world.  I remember the moment I found out that she even existed when my dear friend Saundretta told me that she and her husband Aaron were expecting a baby.  Sage’s mom is a great friend of mine who is intelligent, beautiful, and a wonderful advocate of Global Education.  I was thrilled and I even think I experienced sympathy pregnancy as I began to gain weight during Saundretta’s pregnancy. The Love Challenge


This morning, I heard about the Charleston Church Massacre and I felt all sorts of emotions.  I grew up going to First Missionary Baptist Church in Selma, North Carolina (FMBC Selma) which is over 100 years old.  I would often attend Wednesday night prayer meeting and Bible study so the thought of somebody coming in and doing a similar act to the church that I grew up in simply because the members are black is quite chilling.
